Work as an ARA Technologist!

Working at ARA

About ARA Diagnostic Imaging

ARA opened its doors in 1954 and has grown up with Central Texas. Operating 17 outpatient imaging centers and working with 24 area hospitals, ARA serves patients and providers around Central Texas. In 2019, ARA joined Radiology Partners to increase our capabilities in AI, economies of scale, and access to a national infrastructure.

What’s it like working for ARA?

ARA’s operations and human resources teams focus on creating a productive and fulfilling work environment. Flexibility is part of our management approach. Our Outpatient Imaging Center (OIC) Advocacy Group is an advisory and action team of elected members from each of our 17 OICs that works with leadership on continually improving the daily work experience for OIC teammeates.

At ARA, we generally see ambulatory patients who are not in acute care, meaning there is less physical work and you are able to focus on the imaging. Also, a hospital background is not necessary to work in outpatient imaging. ARA often hires directly from training programs.

Working at ARA: Monique Avalos

MRI Coordinator

“I am so grateful to have found my home.”

MONIQUE AVALOS, MRI Coordinator

“I was offered a position at ARA before I even graduated from my ACC program! After 17 years, I’ve never regretted taking it. The culture at ARA feels like a real work family. I found my true passion when I was selected to train in MRI. It’s been nothing but growth since then. I’m now an MRI coordinator and I’m able to be part of the bigger picture and help our MRI team maintain a leading role in the local radiology field. ARA prides itself in providing the highest quality of patient care and I love being a part of that.”

JENNIFER REIMUND, Lead CT Technologist

“As a student in the ACC X-ray and CT program, I had the pleasure of doing my clinical rotations both at ARA and hospital sites. I knew before I graduated that I wanted to end up at ARA, for the simple fact that ARA had a great reputation and the dynamics of the clinic sites. At the time of graduation, ARA did not have any openings. So, I started my career in the hospital, knowing where my heart lies. Eventually I was hired on at ARA, then advanced to CT tech II, and CT Lead. I am so grateful to have found my home.”

MARIBEL ESCOBAR, Director of Operations

“Coming from a hospital environment in 2006, ARA immediately felt different. Not only because I felt like I was truly practicing all I learned in X-ray school, but also because I immediately felt like I belonged. When the QA Coordinator position became available, I applied and got the job. I had grown to love my Cedar Park family and would miss them, but in my heart I knew I wanted to pursue quality and safety for the organization. I made the move to the ARA corporate office and worked closely with our Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for many years. In 2023, I became Director of Operations for the north outpatient imaging centers and the Quality & Safety Department. These last fourteen years with ARA have truly been nothing short of amazing! I love working for an organization that treats its employees like family and truly cares about the quality of service, imaging, and patient care. I am looking forward to being a part of the ARA family for many more years!”

TAYLOR KIRK, Lead Molecular Imaging Technologist

“When I graduated with my degree in nuclear medicine, I worked in a hospital, but it wasn’t inspiring, plus I worked alone. My career here at ARA is more than I imagined it would ever be. Our work in the Theranostics Center is in leading-edge cancer treatment that is only rivaled at major medical institutions. I’m excited every day to help very sick patients, and to make connections that will serve me forever. If you have aspirations and goals, ARA is a good fit.”
