ARA Accreditation

When choosing a radiology group, it’s important to know that it meets high-quality standards. ARA is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in all forms of advanced medical imaging. All of ARA’s physicians are certified in radiology by the American Board of Radiology, and our technologists are registered by their respective modality boards.

Breast Imaging Facilities
Three of our Breast Imaging Centers are designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Centers by the ACR. All of our mammography facilities are certified by the FDA and the Department of Health and Human Services.

The ACR accredits ARA in mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and stereotactic breast biopsy and is part of the National Mammography Database. Mammography technologists are registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

ARA Technologists
All radiologic technologists are registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and by the Texas Medical Board. Many of our staff have advanced credentials in mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and quality management.

ARA Nurses & Paramedics
Have Texas licensing/certification, basic and advanced cardiac life support (BLS & ACLS) certification, pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certification, training in the use of the automatic external defibrillator (AED), and training in the use of conscious sedation.

Radiation Safety
ARA physicians and technologists have extensive training in radiation safety and limiting radiation exposure for patients. ARA participates in the Image Wisely and children’s Image Gently programs that promote lowering the amount of radiation used in medically necessary imaging studies and eliminating unnecessary procedures. Participating in the ACR Dose Index Registry allows ARA to compare CT standards to national and local indexes.
