ARA welcomes new CEO Steven Salyer, MBA
Please join us in welcoming our new CEO, Steven Salyer!
Steven is an accomplished and innovative healthcare executive with extensive experience running complex hospital operations. Steven most recently served as CEO of Watsonville Community Hospital in California, where he led a complete reorganization with a sale to a newly formed healthcare district. Previously, he was COO for UP Health System – Marquette, a 222-bed specialty care and Level 2 trauma hospital in Michigan. Steven earned an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology and served as Captain in the United States Marine Corps.
Through his hospital leadership experience, Steven learned that radiology is a backbone service line in healthcare. Moving forward, he sees a future of innovation in radiology, including Theranostics, medical technology, continuum of care, AI advances that add quality, and much more. He is excited to be part of the ongoing ARA legacy and looks forward to leading an organization that has served Austin and Central Texas for almost 70 years.
As Steven gets to know ARA, he’ll meet with leadership, do thoughtful reviews of operations, and get feedback to build plans for ARA’s future. He’ll be looking at efficiencies of operation, process improvement, and quality improvements to win over patients and providers in our community, all with an eye to keeping ARA on a growth track that will enhance radiological services in Central Texas.
