Akash Desai, MD

Dr. Akash Desai is a native Austinite who was delighted to return to his home city after extensive medical training. He obtained his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, where he also completed his internship. Next, Dr. Desai did a residency and fellowship in interventional and diagnostic radiology at the Einstein Jefferson Medical Center in Philadelphia, serving as chief resident from 2021 to 2023.

Dr. Desai’s expertise in interventional radiology covers many procedures, but he has special clinical interest in Liver Cancer treatments, kidney cancer treatments, uterine fibroid treatment, gonadal vein embolization, complex IVC filter retrievals, pulmonary AVM treatment, endoleak treatment after AAA repair, and genicular artery embolization. He loves seeing patients’ lives improving after treatment with the innovative and minimally invasive techniques he employs.

Dr. Desai enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and traveling.
