Shameem Azizad, MD, MBA
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Shameem Azizad has joined ARA as of March 2017. She is board-certified in diagnostic radiology with specialties in cardiothoracic, breast and body imaging. Dr. Azizad comes to ARA from South Texas Radiology in San Antonio, where she was an attending radiologist in a high-volume practice with both outpatient and hospital imaging capabilities.
Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Azizad was accepted into the Leadership in Medicine program, whereby she obtained a combined degree in biology and philosophy at Union College, an MBA in health systems administration, and went on to obtain her medical degree from Albany Medical College. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Albany Medical Center in 2010 and then a residency from 2010-2014 in diagnostic radiology at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Azizad also did a fellowship in cardiothoracic imaging at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
When she’s not working, Dr. Azizad spends time with her husband and their 1-year-old daughter. She loves catching standup comedy shows, podcasts, tacos, and exploring Austin. She volunteers with a local nonprofit organization to assist refugees in Austin, and spends time raising awareness and fundraising for organizations and causes that she sees
making positive changes in our community and globally.

Megan E. Bouchareb, MD
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Megan E. Bouchareb has joined ARA as a part of the body/cross sectional team. Dr. Bouchareb has been working as a teleradiologist with Alaska Imaging Associates and prior to that worked with Community Radiology Associates in Austin. She earned her medical degree in 2006 at Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia, and then went on to a transitional internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in New York. Dr. Bouchareb did her residency in diagnostic radiology at the Emory University School of Medicine from 2007 to 2011 where she acted as chief resident during 2010. She then went on to complete an advanced fellowship in abdominal/pelvic MRI at the Mayo Clinic Arizona in Phoenix.
Aside from her academic pursuits, Dr. Bouchareb was a member of the Mayo Clinic Arizona Department of Radiology Finance Committee, where she helped guide the financial performance of the department. She also served on the Emory Graduate Medical Education Committee, where she represented radiology residents in matters presided over by the Office of Graduate Medical Education.
Dr. Bouchareb is certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Matthew F. Murray, MD
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Matthew F. Murray has joined ARA as of March 2017. Dr. Murray comes to ARA from Community Radiology Associates in Austin and joins the body/cross sectional team. He earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, School of Medicine, in 2005, then went on to do an internship in internal medicine also at that institution. Dr. Murray did his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston from 2006 to 2010 and then did a year-long fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology, also at Medical University of South Carolina.
While completing his fellowship, Dr. Murray worked as an associate clinical professor at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. During his academic years, he worked as a research assistant, first at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and then at the University of Texas Houston School of Medicine, Center for Microvascular and Lymphatic Studies. His philanthropic interests include Dell Children’s Hospital Trust and he is proficient in Spanish.
Dr. Murray is certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
